“You never change things by fighting the existing reality.

To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”

Buckminster Fuller

The revolution will be broadcast.

About Us

Lethlabile is a name of African origin and translates as ‘Sunshine’ or ‘the sun has risen’.

We believe that together we can build a new model – a better model that makes the existing one obsolete.

As South Africans, revolution is in the soil – it is in our blood. But we have been getting angry about the wrong things.

It’s time to get angry about the right things.

At the heart of Lethlabile is a love for people – and therefore Lethlabile strives to address a wide array of social issues – from addiction, rehabilitation and education to addressing issues like IPV, poverty and food insecurity. Community resilience and real social justice starts with people standing together, taking hands to make a difference.

Change starts with us. It’s all about being present, about being mindful – about being HERE.

Be a part of this movement. Be the rising of the sun in someone’s darkest moment. Reach out and find out how you can help out today.

““If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”

— Mother Theresa

What we do…

#NOLONGERALONE

Coming from the darkness of addiction we know how hard it can be to make the transition from chaos into consciousness.

One of the main priorities of Lethlabile is to assist those who suffer from addiction and alcoholism to find the right help – whether that takes the form of booking in to rehab, finding counseling or other means of support – we aim to see families healed and restored.

Rehabilitation alone is not enough. Reconciliation with the larger community is imperative.

Therefore we also strive to support the families of those affected by addiction.

#NOLONGERALONE aims to educate the public and show that recovery from addiction is possible – when w do it together.

You never need to stand alone again.

#BREAKINGBREAD

We waste almost as much as we consume, and yet some of the most vulnerable members of our society are still going to bed hungry.

Food insecurity, along with food wastage, is a growing problem in many parts of the world.

Lethlabile, partnered with Locked Out and Nosh, are currently providing a growing list of beneficiaries with weekly food parcels and cooked meals.

But this is not enough.

With your help we can do so much more.

#BREAKINGBREAD aims to build community through doing just that – breaking bread with those in need – sharing what we have with those who don’t.

Community Resilience

Community Resilience can be defined as the capability of a community to prepare for, respond to and recover from circumstances, situations and multihazard threats with minimum damage to public safety, health, economy or infrastructure.

It is our capacity to face and recover from crisis.

In these tumultuous times that we find ourselves in as a society – facing a plethora of issues, circumstances and threats to our mental and physical health and wellness – it is becoming more and more important for communities to work together.

One of our organizational goals is to take hands and work with other organizations, businesses and community leaders – as well as individuals who want to make a difference – to build a network whose main priority is to build resilience in local communities and provide services which address and alleviate societal problems.

We aim to do this by partnering with like-minded people – people who love people.

We all have something to bring to the table. We all have something to offer.

This is your invitation to come and make a difference.

Change starts with us. It’s all about being present, about being mindful – about being HERE.

Be a part of this movement. Be the rising of the sun in someone’s darkest moment. Reach out and find out how you can help out today.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Margaret Mead
